You can operate this toilet seat with an app

We need profiles for everything these days: streaming services, car settings, even toilet seats. The new Bemis BB-1200 toilet seat is controlled with an app and learns your preferences.

In the Netherlands it is not so common, but many people find it very pleasant: a bidet. Some use it instead of toilet paper, others to freshen up their southern regions apart from that. In France, among other places, you often come across it. Now there is a toilet seat that you can change into a bidet: the Bemis BB-1200. You can save multiple profiles on it to record your preferences.

With the app you can set the water temperature, the temperature of the toilet seat and the temperature of the dryer. You can also set the water pressure and the position of the shower yourself in the app for Android and iOS. The toilet seat can connect with Bluetooth and wifi and there is also a remote control so that guests can also use the many possibilities that this toilet seat offers.

According to Bemis, the app does not share personal information with third parties and the data is not linked to your identity. However, if you want to be on the safe side, you can better choose to use the remote control. This special device costs around 400 euros and is therefore a lot cheaper than the smart toilet seat from Kohler: the PureWash E930 costs between 1500 and 2000 euros, which makes refreshing during a toilet visit very expensive, per time.

Smart toilet seat

For non-bidet users, a smart toilet seat is a lot less interesting. The options that remain are whether or not to heat the toilet seat, although we can also imagine a Japanese toilet seat with which you can listen to your favorite music or nature sounds or play a flushing sound. In the future, a smart toilet will probably go more towards the medical side, where for example your urine is checked for diseases or minerals that are missing.
