Young people learned to be volunteers and established cooperation

The Z-Puzzle Society, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Center for Support of Public Organizations of Southern Latgale and the Daugavpils Department of Youth and Sports, organized volunteer training on November 21 to promote the involvement of youth and the development of a culture of volunteerism in the region, according to the municipal portal.

Representatives of the Department of Youth and Sports Affairs took part in the training, who gave young people an idea of the legislation and the rights of volunteering, and also informed them about opportunities in the city and region.

Moderator of the youth club of the Rothko Museum Mayrita Folkmane introduced young people to the idea of the club and the work done so far. The purpose of the club is to promote youth cooperation and co-creation, creating a stimulating, creative and supportive environment for the development of artistic understanding, creativity and personal growth.

Latvian Red Cross youth also spoke about volunteer work opportunities. The organization supports youth initiatives and ideas, promotes involvement in learning and popularization of non-formal education, motivates young people to effectively use their free time and carries out humanitarian work for the benefit of society.

During the training, current and future volunteers actively worked in groups together with moderator Vili Bruveris, answering various questions about the nature of volunteer work.

As a result, young people gained new knowledge about volunteering opportunities, and the organizers received valuable information from young people that will help improve the process of organizing the volunteer movement.

In conclusion, both current and future volunteers recognized that such training is necessary as it brings clarity to the essence of volunteering and promotes closer cooperation between organizers and youth.
