Xiaomi has more than one interesting gadget in its portfolio that will be appreciated by pets as much as their masters. To the smart feed dispenser Smart Pet Food Feeder 2 (XMWSQ02) now a smart water dispenser has been added Smart Pet Fountain 2 (MJCWYSJ03). Xiaomi has launched it on the global market, which means that its availability in our country is quite likely.

An overturned water bowl and a thirsty cat is every pet owner’s nightmare. But not with this product. It is designed to prevent such a situation. Stability is ensured by non-slip feet, which minimize the risk of tipping over. The device is powered by a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAhwhich should be enough to run for a while up to 100 days. This value is more than oversized. However, if for some reason you would prefer mains power, the device is also ready for that.

Appearance and dimensions

The dispenser measures 19 x 23 x 18 centimeterswhich is a reasonable compromise between practicality and wasted space. The tank with a capacity of 3 liters has a transparent window through which you can easily monitor the remaining amount of water. This is enough for 15 days for an adult cat or for a week if you have two cats.

It’s not a problem if you have to go away for a while. But of course we are talking about an emergency situation, because no one who lives with their cat would leave it unattended for so long. In addition to a visual check, you will receive a low water alert in the Mi Home app.

The product is only supplied in white color. However, we don’t mind that, because the white color is universal enough and fits into practically every home.

Modes of operation

The dispenser offers three different water dispensing modes. Sensor mode it releases water for ten seconds when your pet approaches. This is ideal for curious cats, for example. Intermittent mode dispenses water according to a preset schedule. This is good for ongoing hydration. And in continuous mode the device dispenses water continuously, while filtering any hair and dirt from the bowl. You will appreciate this mode during molting.

Maintenance

This smart water dispenser is based on easy maintenance. It can be easily disassembled into several parts, which can then be easily washed. Thanks to the IPX7 certification, you can easily rinse the individual parts in water. The water container has smooth inner walls, which prevents dirt from settling and facilitates maintenance. The already mentioned application alerts you to the need for maintenance, so you don’t have to monitor yourself when something needs to be done.

Filtration

Xiaomi makes sure that the water that will be offered to your pets is in perfect condition. This ensures nofour-stage filtration system. The water is purified using activated carbon, microporous PP filter, bacteria suppressing cotton and ion exchange resin.

All this together prevents the penetration of dirt and fur. Furthermore, the content of calcium, magnesium and sodium is reduced, which improves the taste of the water. The slope of the fountain is adapted to the natural position of the animals when drinkingwhich prevents cat acne.

Xiaomi launched the product on global siteswhich predisposes it to early expansion into the world. It is sold at a price of 279 Chinese yuan, which is about 915 CZK. VAT and shipping costs must be added to this price, so the price in Czech stores could be around 1300 CZK.
