Your URL shortener is also trashed by Google

After August of next year, the shortened links of goo.gl will no longer work.

Google totally terminates the operation of the link shortening service called goo.gl, which was launched in 2009, and the last functioning function of the service until now, will also be stopped. The company previously, in 2019 to be precise, eliminated the possibility for users to create new abbreviated links, but the latest step already means that the abbreviated goo.gl format links exchanged in this way will also cease to work on the web.

After August 25, 2025, netizens will not find themselves on the target page when opening a shortened link, but instead face a 404 error message, which is intended to convey the message that the given address does not exist – this can even be misleading, since it is not the it’s about the termination of the landing page, but the shooting down of the link shortening service.
