One person was killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Kutupalong Mango Tree Tala area of Cox’s Bazar. At this time, two others were seriously injured. The accident happened on Thursday (January 9) around 12 noon.
The critically injured were rescued and admitted to Kutupalong MSF Hospital in Ukhia. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
The deceased person is Liku Mankin (30), son of deceased Avni De of Bhavatpur village of Durgapur upazila of Netrokona district. The killer car driver was arrested for his involvement in the incident. Besides, two cars were seized.
The arrested driver is Santosh Chandra Burman, son of deceased Nibaran Chandra Burman of Jail Para village in Comilla. In this regard, Mahbub Kabir, in-charge of Shahpuri Highway Police in Ukhia, said that two vehicles involved in the accident have been seized.
