Awami League activist Delwar could not be saved after being stabbed by miscreants. Delwar Hossain (39), who was stabbed by miscreants for speaking on behalf of Awami League on Facebook Live, died on Monday around 4 pm while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC).
Deceased Awami League supporter Delwar Hossain is a resident of South Charti village of Ward No. 8 of Charti Union of Satkania Upazila of Chittagong. Seasonal fruit trader by profession and father of three sons and one daughter.
On the night of November 18, miscreants took him in an autorickshaw and stabbed him. Relatives rescued him with serious injuries and admitted him to the hospital.

The miscreants then called him on his mobile phone and threatened to kill him. Based on this, his father was hacked to death. His father was stabbed four times in the chest, 10-12 times in the thigh and ankle. In addition, the jugular vein is cut. The attackers also tried to destroy the eyes.
Relatives of the deceased and local sources said that Delwar was standing in front of the house on the night of November 18. At this time, 10-12 masked miscreants stabbed him in various parts of his body including his chest. At that time, they took Delwar in an auto-rickshaw to the mosque area in the middle of Ward No. 3 of Amlaish Union.
Later, the assailants left the dead on the road and fled towards Kanchana Union. Eyewitnesses said that 10-12 other miscreants with some auto-rickshaws were standing on the road during the attack. After they left, local residents rescued Delwar and initially admitted him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. He was taken to a private treatment hospital in Chittagong for advanced treatment in the early hours of November 19.
Simon, son of the deceased Delwar, said his father was taken to a private hospital due to the ICU crisis. When the condition worsened there, he was again admitted to the ICU of Chittagong Medical College Hospital on November 21 evening. He died there on Monday around 4 pm.
Meanwhile, no case has been filed in the Satkania police station till Monday night. Satkania police station OC Md. Mostafa Kamal Khan told Daily Azadi that he received news that Delwar Hossain, who was injured in the attack by the miscreants, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. So far no one has filed any case or complaint in this incident. After filing the case, appropriate legal action will be taken against those involved in the incident subject to investigation.
