YouTube blocked videos of Adele, Green Day and Bob Dylan due to copyright

A large number of YouTube videos with music from artists such as Adele, Green Day, Bob Dylan, Nirvana and REM had been uploaded since Saturday no longer playable in the United States due to a conflict with SESAC, an interest group that represents more than 35,000 music artists and publishers. There is now one after all agree reaches.

Not all videos featuring these artists were blocked; it is not clear whether the playable videos had been overlooked.

YouTube stated that the blockade is the result of failed negotiations with SESAC. No further details are provided about the agreement that has now been concluded.

It is the second major conflict surrounding music rights this year. Previously, there was a dispute between Universal Music Group and TikTok. Ultimately, both parties came to an agreement.
