YouTube is testing a cheaper subscription – MojAndroid.sk

Service YouTube recently increased the price of its subscription in several regions YouTube Premium. In Slovakia, users have so far avoided the price increase, but in the affected countries they have not taken it up with enthusiasm. According to the portal 9to5Google the service responded to this and started testing a cheaper subscription.

Cheaper subscriptions are not completely new

YouTube Premium no doubt it has many advantages. In addition to the complete removal of often very annoying advertising it also offers other benefits in the service and directly in the videos. Specifically, the ability to download videos to offline mode, playing in the background a children’s channel YouTube Kids or music streaming service YouTube Music.

However, the price of the subscription is not the lowest in most regions. The service therefore decided to revive the idea of ​​a half-cheap subscription YouTube Premium Litewhich it once offered in a few countries. Back then it was basically a half program YouTube Premiumwhich did get rid of the ads, but that was basically it.

For example, it didn’t offer offline mode, no background playback, no YouTube Music, and no other benefits. This time, according to feedback from testing, it’s even worse. In addition to the absence of the mentioned advantages, ads will not disappear completely. They should be displayed with licensed music, in short videos Shortsin search and also in YouTube Kids.

It is not yet confirmed when and if this cheaper subscription will be available in the full version of the service. And not even whether it will be available on the Slovak market. On the other hand, YouTube Premium in Slovakia is still at the original price 7.19 euros per month. A cheaper subscription is then available for students 4,19 eur and for families, a family tariff with a price 10,99 eur.
