YouTube Premium will soon be standard equipment in multimedia systems on Delta airlines. This is a service that no one expected there – but it is!
YouTube Premium is a subscription offer that has been causing unhealthy debate for years. Some people love it, others completely disagree with paying for the content available on the website, not to mention watching advertisements there. For many, YouTube should be free and ad-free, and most importantly: available wherever possible. And although playing with the creators of software for blocking ads (popularly called adblocks) and downloading content from an offline platform (recently, one of the most popular programs in this area stopped working for some time: Internet Download Manager) is a constant race and overtaking with subsequent updates . It’s a game of cat and mouse. For many people, it is still better than paying several dozen zlotys a month for access to YouTube Premium.
Delta, an American airline, meets their needs. They have just announced a completely new service, under which users of their SkyMiles program will be able to enjoy access to YouTube Premium completely free on flights.
YouTube Premium for free on flights. Delta launches a new offer
Starting next year, Delta passengers who have the opportunity to use the Delta Sync system will be able to enjoy access to the entire range of Premium YouTube content – at no additional cost. Airplanes have had WiFi on board for years, and each year it is improved to work more efficiently than ever before. Next year, the company is planning a major update to its multimedia systems, which will include in-seat multimedia systems offering QLED HDR screens with 4K resolution. What’s more – without any additional devices, you can also connect Bluetooth headphones to them. Thanks to this, in the absence of accessories, users will not be stuck with on-board headphones.
Whether it’s Delta Sync Wi-Fi or Delta Sync Seatback, Delta prides itself on giving customers something new to discover every time they travel and is committed to continually offering customers content that is relevant to them – which are personal to them and meet them where they are. The multi-layered partnership with YouTube gives customers access to the industry’s most high-quality content source for free, powered by fast, free Delta Wi-Fi. — we read in the official announcement of the service
This sounds great and really promising — and I believe that thousands of users will be more than satisfied with this solution. And who knows – maybe after a dozen or so hours of flight with Premium privileges, it will turn out that they will be tempted to purchase the service themselves. For me, the basic question is – how effectively will WiFi actually work on board and will I be able to enjoy the content on the website in 4K stably, without any cuts?
