YouTube is raising the price of its Premium product by two euros to fourteen euros per month. Families will pay 26 euros per month (+44%) from November, which would make it the most expensive streaming service.
The price increases in the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and Italy are among the largest in Europe, according to posts on Reddit.
Google is also raising Premium prices in the Middle East, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. India was already up earlier with a 15 percent increase.
Those who pay for YouTube do not have to watch commercials and can download videos for on the go or offline situations if desired. In addition, the subscriber gets YouTube Music, a variant on Spotify.
Begin 2024 Google reported that it had a hundred million Premium subscribers.
If YouTube Premium were considered a streaming service, it would the most expensive are on the Dutch market. Viaplay would then be number two with a monthly fee of sixteen euros.
