YouTube Premium subscription for European users has skyrocketed

All users in Europe report significant price increases on individual and family plans. And although the reports are mostly from here on the continent, YouTube has made a quiet decision to raise prices globally. Registered users are now receiving emails with the new pricing that will take effect in November.

With new examples, we learn that in Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy, for the family program he will ask €26 monthly, from €18, while individual programs go from €12 to €14. Swiss users will have to pay CHF 34 (up from CHF 24) and Swedish users will see their packages increase from SEK 179 to SEK 279.

Perhaps a full list of countries receiving a price increase will be released by YouTube soon, but until then, keep an eye on your email inbox.

So officially now, YouTube Premium is considered one of the most expensive steaming servicesat least for users who use the platform primarily for YouTube Music. A random comparison with a similar service such as, for example, Spotify, which asks for its family plan in Europe on average (prices vary from country to country) is about €18, while the individual plan is about €11. Apple Music is also cheaper, matching Spotify’s individual plan price and asking €1 less for its family plan.
