Think ads can’t get any more annoying? But they can. YouTube has invented another way to make life miserable for users who refuse to pay subscriptions. Ads will automatically play when the video is paused.
Ads are everywhere and there are too many of them. On Instagram, Facebook or on websites and videos. Sometimes they can be simply skipped, other times they attack people’s patience with their intrusiveness. YouTube is a pioneer in this regard. At first, the video server turned a blind eye to those who used ad blocking tools. Later, however, he began to notice them and completely limited the use of such tools. Now it comes with another innovation that will surely make users drink blood. It will automatically play ads when playback is paused.
The new type of ads, which are currently only for YouTube on TVs, were pointed out by several users in discussions on Reddit and the social network X. According to them, the ads started immediately after pausing the video being played. However, they were not displayed on the entire screen, but only in its right part. YouTube did not officially inform about the news, and it is therefore not clear whether it plans to introduce the new type of ads across the board for everyone after the end of the test operation.
