YouTube’s latest experiment makes it harder to “dislike” Shorts

YouTube is launching a new Shorts UI that replaces the “I don’t like” con “Salva“. The company is testing the change with a limited group of mobile users before committing to a potential global release.

Those who will be affected by this experiment they will no longer find the “Dislike” button in the main view of the player, but they can reveal it by tapping the three-dot menu.

This change encourages users to add more videos to their playlists by bringing the “Save” button to the main interface. Given nature frenetic of YouTube Shorts, many testers will likely start using this button more often now that it doesn’t require an additional click. Likewise, with the “Dislike” button out of the way, some users might scroll away from YouTube Shorts who disapprove without leaving a thumbs down.

Since it is still a limited testingit’s unclear whether Google will roll out the change to all users in the future or eliminate it altogether. The company often experiments with features and kills them before they see the light of day.
