The collaboration between American director Zack Snyder and Netflix studios does not seem ready to end. Indeed, the director of the two films Rebel Moon is back today with the announcement of a promising new project.
Zack Snyder is far from done with Netflix
Following the big problems that Warner studios encountered with the DC Extended Universe, Zack Snyder left for other horizons. Some might say that Zack Snyder is returning today to announce the continuation of his science fiction saga? This is not the case. It is indeed in the columns of our colleagues from The Hollywood Reporter that the filmmaker spoke about the new project he has in the works for Netflix:
A few years ago, Dan (Lin, the production manager of Netflix Studios) and I had a very enriching exchange, about our desire to tell a captivating and visceral story, focused on characters who are part of the complex and fascinating LAPD (LAPD) and it’s a discussion that hasn’t gotten out of my head.
As you can imagine, So I’m particularly excited to now be able to collaborate with Dan and my amazing partners at Netflix Studios to bring this story to life.
So it’s official, Zack Snyder will return with a new feature film for Netflix and the story of this action thriller will take place within an elite unit of the Los Angeles police. The filmmaker is writing the script with his trusted collaborator Kurt Johnstad, with whom he had previously made the films 300 and the diptych Rebel Moon. Finally, we will find Wesley Coller as well as his wife Deborah Snyder and himself in the production of this new action film.
