Pardubice – Coach Marek Zadina ends the Pardubice hockey players’ substitution. Dynamo said on the club’s website that he had resigned as head coach. In today’s Champions League match against Lahti, the team will be led by the sports manager of the first league “B” Václav Baďouček.
“Marek Zadina had the full support of the club’s management. They tried to supplement the implementation team appropriately. Meanwhile, Marek surprised us with his decision, but we fully respect him,” said sports director Petr Sýkora.
The East Bohemians are second behind Litvínov in the extra league after nine games played. But the club’s management was reportedly not satisfied with the team’s performance. According to the media, Pardubice approached Miloslav Hořava, who was supposed to expand the implementation team.
“I have always given everything to Dynamo and I hope that is how I will be remembered here. The start to the season was not ideal from a game point of view and I believe that my departure will relieve the team of the pressure it was under and serve as the right impulse. I wish for Dynamo to do well,” said Zadina, who also worked for Dynamo as a player.
The fifty-two-year-old coach returned to Pardubice a year ago from Třinec together with Václav Varaďa, to whom he was originally an assistant. But in January, Varaďa was dismissed and Zadina moved to the position of head coach. Under his leadership, Dynamo won the basic part of the extra league and advanced to the playoff final, in which they lost to Třinec 3:4 on matches.
“Marek always did what he thought was best for the team. He was in a very difficult position since he joined. He also ended his tenure at Dynamo with a decision he thought was best for the team,” said Sýkora.
Pardubice are the first club in the new extra league season to change the composition of the implementation team. The next match of the domestic top league of East Bohemia awaits on Friday, when they will play Liberec at home.
