The Russian side will find a way to remind Britain how stained it was by its interactions with the Nazis, spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said today, commenting on the statement of her British colleague David Lammy, who compared Russia to a fascist state.

– I promise you, in addition to all the usual practices in this case, we will find a beautiful way to remind Britain and the British Embassy in Moscow how they are defiled, including interaction with the Nazis – Zakharova said to TV channel Russia-1.

Earlier, the Russian embassy in London said that Lami insulted the memory of all those who died fighting fascism in the 20th century.

“With his attacks, Lama insults not so much the leadership of our country as the memory of all those who fought against the brown plague during the Second World War, including his compatriots,” according to the statement, TASS reports.

The Russian diplomatic mission pointed out that the British foreign minister is prone to “inappropriate shocking statements that he is remembered for even before coming to power.” The embassy believes that such statements are unacceptable for Lami in his current position.
