Zeekr uses humanoid robots in a car manufacturing plant

Zeekr, part of the Geely Holding Group, has started using humanoid robots in its car manufacturing plant, just like the company Nio is doing.

The robot, called Walker S Lite, which was produced by the company UBTech Robotics, began to be used in Zeek’s factory in early July. It is a light robot that helps in lifting various loads and meets the highest industrial standards.

As he states Klix.ba, the work of the robot is part of a collaboration between the companies UBTech, Geely Holding and Miracle Automation Engineering. During three weeks of on-site training, the Walker S Lite used VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) navigation, end-to-end imitation learning, visual recognition and fine motion control for autonomous navigation and operation alongside automated guided vehicles (AGVs) on a variety of production sites. lines.

Equipped with high-performance servo drives and 6-dimensional force sensors, the Walker S Lite can stably lift boxes weighing 15 kilograms while moving.

The adoption of humanoid robots in the Zeekr company also represents a new step forward towards further automation in the production of electric vehicles. In February, UBTech released a video of its Walker S robot in Nio’s factory, where it performed various tasks such as checking the quality of door locks, seat belts, logo placement, and the like. This event was UBTech’s first on-site training for the Walker S robot in an electric car factory.
