Zelenski: The alliance between Russia and regimes like the North Korean one is getting stronger

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said relations with his country’s partners should change in light of North Korean transfers of people and weapons to Russian forces in Ukraine.

“We see that the alliance between Russia and regimes like the North Korean one is getting stronger,” Zelenskiy said in his video speech on Sunday, according to Reuters. “It’s not just about the transfer of weapons, it’s actually about the transfer of people from North Korea to the armed forces of the occupiers,” said the Ukrainian president.

“It is obvious that, under such conditions, our relationship with our partners must evolve,” he added.

“The front line needs more support. We are talking about more long-range capabilities for Ukraine and more sustained supplies for our forces, rather than a simple list of military equipment,” Zelensky said.

South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said on Tuesday that “there is a strong possibility” that North Korea will deploy troops to help Russia in its war with Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, asked Thursday if North Korea was sending troops to fight in Ukraine, told reporters: “This appears to be another fake news.”
