Zelensky: The next week could be historic for the defense of Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said tonight that he expects the next week to be historic for the defense of Ukraine and that “meaningful decisions” will be made within the framework of the meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine at the US Air Force Base Ramstein, scheduled for October 12.

– Now our teams – of Ukraine and the United States of America, as well as teams of other partners, are working on the preparation of Ramstein, important decisions and, in general, meetings and negotiations next week, and this week can be positive for our defense, for our vision of how it should be end the war. We will do everything for this, we will do it one hundred percent efficiently – Zelenski said in a video message published on Facebook.

The President of Ukraine also said that in the next few days there will be political consultations between Ukrainian and Western teams: officials, diplomats, as well as the army regarding “fulfilling the military points of the Victory Plan”.

– This is something that can quickly strengthen Ukraine, Ukrainian positions are first of all our front and everything indicated in the Plan is absolutely realistic for our partners, who will enable us to progress in the Peace Formula – he stressed.

Zelensky repeated that it is possible to guarantee reliable peace and long-term security for Ukraine exclusively on the basis of international law and “without any trade in sovereignty or trade in territories”.

– Exactly as predicted in the Peace Formula, peace is needed – real, guaranteed protection from war. Thank you to everyone who is helping us and who is ready, just like us, to make next week historic in many ways – he said in a video address.

Zelensky thanked for the destruction of Russian military logistics, and especially for the attack on Russian military airfields.

– This is the most necessary. Every destroyed base of the Russian army, every destroyed base of Russian aircraft, every destroyed warehouse with aerial bombs saves the lives of Ukrainians, this is real support for the front. We will convince our partners that our drones alone are not enough. More decisive steps are needed. The end of this war will be near. I am sure of that – concluded Zelenski.
