According to the Ukrainian president, steps were discussed that would lead to the handover of Gripen fighters, on which his compatriots are already training. At the same time, Stockholm supported Kyiv on its way to the European Union.

“Our main goal is the strengthening of Ukrainian fighters on the ground and in the air, the development of mutual cooperation, especially in the defense industry, Ukraine’s European integration and common security in the Euro-Atlantic area,” added Zelenskyy on telegram.
Sweden and Finland applied to join NATO due to Russian aggression against Ukraine. While Helsinki has already become the 31st member of the alliance, Stockholm is still waiting for Turkey’s approval.
