ZSE Drive opens the first City Hub for electric cars in Bratislava

The company ZSE Drive presented an innovative solution for charging electric cars by opening the first urban charging hub on Landererová Street in Bratislava. This new City Hub combines the latest charging technologies, modern design and sustainability, bringing an ideal solution for urban areas with apartment buildings.

The most modern charging technology

City Hub offers about ten charging points with chargers from renowned manufacturers Alpitronic and Alfen. It has six DC charging points, including two with a maximum power of 300 kW and four shared points with a power of up to 400 kW. In addition, two 22 kW AC chargers are available. The intelligent load management system efficiently distributes the available power between active charges.

Thanks to this innovative technology, an electric car can be charged to 80% capacity in just 18 minutes, while future vehicle models will be able to use the full power of 400 kW and charge in just 10 minutes. 100% certified electricity from renewable sources from Slovakia is used for charging.

Ecological sustainability

City Hub not only provides modern charging services, but also pays attention to ecological sustainability. The facade has a modern glazed appearance and the roof is covered with vegetation that maintains moisture and is easy to irrigate. The project is designed to minimize energy and water consumption, thereby reducing the ecological footprint.

The City Hub also includes an innovative solution from the Ecotank company, which allows refilling of washer fluid without the need for plastic containers. This system contributes to the reduction of plastic waste and is another step towards sustainability.

Financing and international cooperation

The construction of the charging hub was partially funded by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), which covered 20% of the cost of the charging technology. This project is part of the wider Multi-E initiative, which supports the decarbonisation of transport and improves the quality of life of European citizens.

ZSE Drive Championships

ZSE Drive currently operates 489 charging points throughout Slovakia, with plans to add another 120 ultra-fast charging points by the end of 2024. The company focuses on introducing state-of-the-art technologies and was the first to build a 350 kW ultra-fast charging station in Budč in 2018 and this year it opened a charging station for trucks with a power of 400 kW in Trnava.

ZSE Drive is also actively working on the V4Grid international project, which transforms Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology into a fully functional service in Central Europe. This technology allows electric cars to communicate with charging stations and the grid, optimizing charging time and feeding excess energy back into the grid.

The City Hub on Landererová Street is a step forward in the field of urban charging of electric cars and represents a significant contribution to sustainability and an ecological future.
