Zvezda’s new Mediko block paid 1.6 million dollars

The general manager of Crvena zvezda Zvezdan Terzić said that the new Medico block of that football club, worth 1.6 million dollars, was made according to the highest standards of the clubs from the Champions League, so that the players get the best conditions for work and recovery and that it befits the reputation of the red- white.

“The new infrastructural building was built from the ground up and has about 800 square meters. It is divided into three parts, the first of which is the Medico block, the second is the gym and the third floor is the offices for the coaches of the first team. The investment in this part of our club’s infrastructure alone cost about 1.6 million euros, 1.1 million in construction works and about half a million in state-of-the-art equipment.”

We worked on the Mediko block for a long time and it really cost us a lot because it is the latest generation equipment, said Terzić.

“This field in front of the Mediko block was completed this summer and it is the latest generation of football field with artificial grass. It is rarely played on, it is mostly used by our ‘elite’ group, while the first team only uses it when their fields need to be preserved. This field cost about 180,000 euros,” Terzić added while touring the new Mediko block with journalists.

The new medical center consists of three sectors – the first is for physical therapy, the second with massage boots and a cryo chamber serves for the recovery and detoxification of players, and the third is a spa center.

“Finally, we saw that Crvena Zvezda has the conditions that befit the rank and reputation of our club, a team that plays in the Champions League. We missed this a lot, because fatigue is the key in today’s sport, you can’t train players if they are overworked, and this is something that can affect that and something we needed a lot,” said the general manager of the red and whites.

“I’m very proud that we built this because Red Star needed this, this is the level of the Champions League. Now there are finally conditions for players to spend eight hours at our stadium and be fully dedicated to training,” he added.

The technical director of Zvezda Marko Marin said that during his career in big clubs he had the best working conditions, and that the Belgrade club can now boast of ideal conditions because it has everything a professional player needs at a high level.
